The Branch Office - Puerto Rico

the following are faces of all the missionaries who've come to Puerto Rico to serve....

during our visit we met the Branch Overseer Ron Parkin. he got a kick out of showing us his "laughing cow." he says whenever he's in a meeting with the brothers and one of them says something dumb he pushes the cows laughing button. (the funny part is watching the cow bounce up and down as he LOL:) Brother Parkin went through Gilead and has been in Puerto Rico for 60 years.

The Branch uses some really cool technology as it oversees many of the smaller Carribean Islands. It can use Satellite maps to look at the islands geography.

Interestingly, the brothers explained to us that ALL Spanish translation is done here in Puerto Rico. Brothers from all different Spanish speaking countries are on the team. The reason for this is so the spanish publications are not using terms known only to one area. Rather, working together they can produce spanish literature understandable to ALL spanish speakers.

mom snooping around :)

I had to visit the Infirmary while i was at the Branch - and it's quite similar to ours. All the older missionaries from Spanish-speaking countries "retire" here when they are no longer able to live on their own - so the Puerto Rico branch is jokingly termed the retirement home. The nurses station is below.
